The
Vince Alvano Award
Established in 2003, on the occasion of the
25th Anniversary of Westside Football Club in honour of founder Vince
Alvano and awarded annually to the coach or player whose
drive to win and ability to motivate is an example to the rest of the
club.
Jason Small

The
Bob Baldwin Award
Established in 2003, on the occasion of the
25th Anniversary of Westside Football Club in honour of founder Bob
Baldwin and awarded annually to the player who embodies the
spirit of Westside, leading their team by example on the field and off.
Heather Kisbee

Established in 2007, in honour of
Westside Football Club builder and keeper
Marcus Dressel and awarded annually to the member, family or
friend who best captures the spirit of Westside through a lens.
Guy Leslie

The
Jay Skelding Award
Established in 1990, in memory of stalwart
Westsider Jay Skelding and awarded annually to the most
inspirational and dedicated Westside member (coach, player,
manager or sponsor).
Leslie Bartsch & Kim Blake
Jay Skelding’s #21 is retired across Westside Football Club.
2010 marks the 21st time the Jay Skelding Award is bestowed.
This season we faced the passing of club founder Kelli Glass
after her high profile battle with cancer. Her struggle was a
lengthy one, in part due to the inspiration and dedication of
her “Best Devils”, Leslie Bartsch, also a club founder and Kim
Blake. Kelli would convalesce at the Barker Compound in Point
Roberts after every treatment. Leslie and Kim were her
confidants and collaborators. Along with family, they were with
Kelli all the time taking care of her and tending to anything
that came up. They never tired in their compassion and love.
They have become Kelli’s boys new moms. To reflect on their
selflessness over the past 4 years brings tears to the eyes and
shows us what it truly means to be a team mate.

Established in 1990, in memory of stalwart
Westsider Jay Skelding and awarded annually to the most
inspirational and dedicated Westside member (coach, player,

Peter Stannard
Peter Stannard is surprisingly only the
second club founder to win the Jay Skelding Award. As one of five original
founders of 1978 who is still actively playing (with the same guile and
composure he's always displayed), he has dedicated over 30 years to building the
club. While there are too many accolades to list, Peter is recognized for being
one of the key drivers of the club's early expansion, running the infamous
clubhouse in the 80's, coaching the Red Devils, being a big part of the charity
youth tournament, serving as club president, coaching the masters premier squad
and his ongoing role as the club CIO.

Peter Coles
Peter Coles is one of the South Nepean
Eight and co-founder of the Westside FC Rangers. For the last 12 years he
has built up the Rangers to a squad of four and in the process has kept the club
in the premiership. Along the way he has been a tireless, year-round squad
manager, event promoter / manager and tour organizer, not to mention stalwart
between the pipes or up front when the occasion demanded.

Established in 2007, in honour of
Westside Football Club builder and keeper
Marcus Dressel and awarded annually to the member, family or
